Odd sign-up flow at Bettys Casino for players from Alberta
Total noob here, so maybe I'm being dumb 🙃 but I signed up with Bettys Casino the other week and the sign-up flow felt weird. Like it never even asked about Alberta or steered me toward PlayAlberta at all. I'd just assumed everything up here funnels you to the Crown site first.

Nah you're not dumb Chris, that's pretty much how it goes outside Ontario. PlayAlberta only gets pushed if you go looking for it, private sites don't funnel you anywhere 😂 I'm in Toronto so I've got the regulated market here, but I've heard the same from buddies out west — signup just goes through normal. Curious if anyone else in Alberta noticed the same thing 🎰

retro, regulated just means the province licenses the site and has rules the operator has to follow - complaints go somewhere official, games get audited, that sort of thing. private offshore spots work outside that umbrella, so if a withdrawal goes sideways there's nobody local to call. i ran into the same thing as you years back, signed up somewhere before anyone clued me in PlayAlberta even existed 😄 safer? i'd say fewer surprises, anyway.
