no dumb question at all harry, took me a busted bank or two before it clicked 😄 the logo in the footer usually says who the regulator is, that name is your pointer. so if it says some regulator, you go to that regulator's own website (just type their name into google, it'll be the official one), find their licence search or public register, and punch in the number under the logo. if winlion's number shows up there with an active licence, you're good. if the site comes back empty, or the number doesn't match the name in the footer - close the tab and keep your C$ in your pocket.
